This was a fun one although it took me quite some time. I was working on another Batman Rogue then I found out that during my long absence from customizing, the bastard that men call Carl had already created the perfect version of the Rogue I was gonna make using the same base figure. So with my broken dreams, I looked at the leftovers of that project and wondered what else I could make. Killer Croc came to mind, since apart from animated customs, he was a character nobody really tackled. I never sculpted scales before especially at this scale and thought it would be a good learning experience. Plus Croc would haven been an inevitable necessary addition to my Batman's rogue gallery.
I put together the parts, T-Hawk upper torso, and parts of the Ultimate Lizard from Spiderman from the abs down. I attached the two pieces together with epoxy putty, being mindful of what the final proportions would look like. Then I dremeled the hell out of the parts. I cut off T-Hawk's arms at the wrists and Lizard's feet right under the ankle joint. I replaced the hands and feet with those from the DCD Killer Croc.
Then I sculpted the entire body with Apoxie sculpt. I used the DCD Killer Croc as a guide while taking my own liberties in certain areas. The head was also fully sculpted with Apoxie sculpt with beads for his eyes. I hate the current Jim Lee Daemonite look for Croc so I went for something like his earlier appearances.
Painting him was fun as well as I painted him with a mixture of washes, drybrushes and an airbrush. I tried to end up with a more natural look to him without going overboard.
