2dtoys custom Flash figure

The Marvel Legends Bullseye body is easily the best current base for medium build characters. I just added the head from a DC Direct Silver Age Aquaman with sculpted costume details with epoxy putty. The earwings come from a DCD Modern Flash.

I knew I wanted him to be glossy and shiny so I covered up some of Bullseye's muscular features and smoothed them out. Unfortunately the techniques I tried to get the effect I wanted never really worked. Then I found Testor's Metallic Red enamel which had the perfect shade of red I was looking for. Yea I know using enamels is a customizing 101 no-no. I dont even know myself why I risked using it coz I knew from experience that enamels end up tacky and never dry. But after an hour the enamel actually dried much to my surprise and delight. I dunno exactly how or why it did, but it might have something to do with the amount of paint and gloss coating I already had on the figure beforehand. Anyhoo, I got the effect I wanted but now I can't photograph it properly. heh.
