This guy has been on my essential to do list for a while now and it wasn't until I saw the scar faced Das Reich figure from the WWII special forces line that inspired me to get crackin. I cut the torso at the crotch section under the waist swivel makin sure that it's left intact. The legs come from an X2 Logan figure. The coat is the bottom part of Logan's glued under the underams and right below the pecs. Then I sculpted the jacket details on top of that. I used Logan's jacket because it's rubbery nature will allow some bendability when moving over the sculpted belts, so the waist swivel still works.
The scarred face, and hair was sculpted with epoxy putty. I also ended up sculpting a chin coz the original German dude didn't have one. The rubber black hat came from an old WWF Jim Ross figure with some twisty ties for tassles. The string for the hat came from Daredevil's billyclubs. The embroidery on his cuffs were styrene strips. I had to be really careful with the strips to make sure they didn't break in half when I twirled them around in that pattern. And the gloved trigger hands come from a wetsuit Lara Croft.
I dremeled Logan's thighs to eliminate the thunder-thighs and make him more proportionate to the rest of the figure. I also resculpted the legs below the calf swivel to make them look more like boots. The right holster is from Revolver Ocelot and the left holster is from those 2 dollar TRU figs. I've also resculpted Revolver Ocelot's guns to look like Civil War era Colt army revolvers. I'm not really into customizin accessories but I felt he deserved it.
I've had an absolute blast makin this figure especially during paintin, coz the excessive haphazard drybrushin really adds to the gritty and dirty feel of his Vertigo books. Easily one of my favorites figs thus far. Now I gotta go make a pre-Crisis version.
