2D's custom Wolverine action Figure

This was another custom I ever expected to do. I was raised an 80's X-fan so Wolverine to me has always been the brown costume. But I had already started a Blue and gold X-men team and of course needed a customized Wolvie to go along with them. I reused my Astonishing X-men Wolverine custom, which was made obsolete by the much much nicer Marvel Legends 12 AXM Wolverine.

My previous blue and gold customs were heavily inspired by the art of Jim Lee and I wanted to continue that for a more cohesive appearance. For that genuine Jim Lee look, I used the DC Direct Hush Batman head. I made a cast of that head, cut off the ears, and sculpted new Wolverine mask details in. The ML 6 Wolverine has always been a remarkable figure, but I always thought it lacked the abjoint that is the standard for Marvel Legends articulation. So I transplanted one from a ML Civilian Logan figure.

Then I had to sculpt back all the details that I took away when I customized him into his AXM costume, such as the winged boots. Speaking of those boots, ever wonder how he's able to walk straight, much less run with those things? They'd be banging against each other everytime he moves. But not Wolverine, and that is why he truly is the best there is at what he does. Oh Wolverine, you badass. I love you. Anyhoooo, to complement the new head, (and since I was doing far more work than this custom demanded) I resculpted the thighs, forearms, and torso to a more Jim Lee inspired anatomy as well.
