2D's custom GI JOE Destro Figure

This was actually my second attempt at Destro, I wasn't happy at all with the first one. So he sat unfinished for a few months until I realized a solution was staring at me in the face in the form of a Marvel Legends Luke Cage.

Cage had the wonderful build I wanted, not too big but big enough to have a sizable difference from the other Cobra badguys. The Joes I've done so far had different heights and builds, while my Cobra forces were all clocking in at 6" and it was starting to look boring, Cage just brought a more imposing stature. Most importantly he had that sexy barechested look goin on. So I cut off Luke Cage at the forearms and waist, and plugged in the arms and lower body of a Stealth Wolverine. I sculpted the new chest and collar, then it was a matter of gluing the belt, missiles, grenades and gun holster. The chain came from a nunchuk weapon and the necklace was a piece of clear red Transformer accessory that was cut, dremeled and shaped.

The head was an original sculpt from Apoxie sculpt. I gathered up alot of great references for his head, all very different, and I could never fully settle on which one to go on. So I ended up taking certain qualities and attributes I liked and put together something that is hopefully unmistakably Destro.
