Another fun one. The base figure is Guile resculpted with Apoxie Sculpt. I knew from the start I wanted to use the bright baby blue colors from the original toy and cartoon but I also didnt want to make him look silly. After doing a lot of research I came across a comic image of Gung-Ho that made him look like a huge bodybuilder. I figured that works since some bodybuilders wear garish clothing, and since they're so huge nobody has the guts to tell them that they look like poopyheads.

Thinking about bodybuilders naturally progresses into wrestling, which made me use my favorite wrestling toy of all time, WCW Lex Luger. Not really an impressive toy by today's standards but damn I love the sculpt of that fig. Since Lex has a really fun sculpted face with a lot of character, I decided to make Gung- Ho look like an aged body builder, thus the wrinkles and luvhandles. And while in my mind he essentially became a shirtless old guy wearing baby blue, hopefully he still looks intimidating.

The jacket was from a civilian Cyclops from the first X-men movie, cut up glued on and resculpted to fit. I glued a backpack from a McFarlane's Military figure on his back so I wouldnt have to hide the cut seams. The hat is from the cop that came with X-men movie Sabretooth, with the civilian Cyclops baseballcap for the brim. The hands came from Zombie Al Simmons. The grenade launcher came from Terminator and the grenades on his leg came from a movie Punisher.
