2D's custom NXM Beast figure

For awhile, I didn't know what to use for this guy until I found appropriate bases right under my nose. I used a Street Fighter II Zangief torso and legs from a Gargoyles' Goliath. The hands come from a Gargoyles' Hudson figure.

I yelled at Zangief's chest hair till it fell off and dremeled away all the details from Goliath's legs, from his loincloth to his talons. Then I resculpted everything with epoxy putty. A LOT of epoxy putty. I also sculpted some fur into his hands with epoxy putty so I can paint wash it later and bring more detail to the fig.

The head was made from Super Sculpey pegged into place. You can't tell from the pic but he does have hind legs. I was afraid to dremel away too much of the toe area and give him smaller feet. I thought that by doing so will make the figure unbalanced and unable to stand. But everything worked out and this heavy figure can stand on it's own. To get that leather look, I hand painted the figure dark grey and then did some airbrushed shading with a semi-glossy black.
