Ok.  So I REALLY dig Marvel Legends articulation but I don't want to give up customizing in the smaller 5 inch scale.  So I figured I'd bring ML type articulation (or close to it) to the smaller scale. I rationalized that a Spidey Classics Daredevil, once shortened all to hell, would make a great base for a 5 inch scale multi-articulated Wolverine.

So I began by shortening the fig dramatically by cutting it at the waist, thighs and calves.  I lost the waist articulation when I lopped off the lower part of the figure's six pack, but that's allright because the abdomen swivel essentially does the same thing. I also added some sculpted chest hair with epoxy putty, so that I could drybrush the raised areas later.

For the hands I used the small girlish hands from a Marvel Legends Namor.  I wrapped the peg of Namor's hand with epoxy putty and 10 mins later, right before the epoxy putty fully dried, I started twisting the hand before it adhered to peg.  This way I was able to keep the wrist articulation.  The claws came from a Berzerker Wolvie fig or something.

For the legs, I used the boots from a X-men Movie Cyclops figure.  The calves/boot swivel of the original Daredevil figure were made useless by the height restrictions I was  imposing.  I was  trying to make Wolverine in scale with my other figures as close as possible.

The arms, thighs, crotch and legs were covered in epoxy putty to hide the spandex look and to make it look more like clothes.  The jacket came from a civilian movie Cyclops figure cut to fit.  Mad props to Robokillah for the dogtags.

I didn't know it at the time but the neck peg of the DD figure was attached to the torso by a metal screw, and when I cut off Daredevil's head right at the middle of the neck, the remaining plastic of the neck just fell apart.    I thought I could peg the head on, but not with that screw in the way.  Bottom line was that I ended up losing the neck articulation.  Anyways, the head was made from Super Sculpey with epoxy putty hair and twisty ties for Wolvie's "horns."

One thing I should have realized beforehand was that multiple points of articulation means diddly if you have useless ankle joints like the ones from the X-men movie.  In the end, it didn't work out as well as I'd hoped but this'll keep me until the multi-articulated goodness of X2 figs come out and I make Wolverine v3..
